Curriculum

At CHS we offer all students a broad, challenging and relevant curriculum that we hope will encourage them to become lifelong learners and contribute very well to their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Our curriculum is also personalised for each individual student so that they are able to pursue their interests and strengths. We encourage students to aim high and maximise their learning potential and this commitment is reflected in outstanding examination results.

Our curriculum follows the normal path with students taking GCSEs in Year 11 and A Levels/AS Levels, BTECs and vocational courses at Post 16. In Year 9 students select their options for the subjects they would like to study in Year 10 and 11. Options information and a request form are available in the downloads to the right of the page.

To find out more about the curriculum our school is following, please contact the Head of School, Mr Barlow, using the email link to the right of the page.

Other useful information to help students and their parents decide on the best courses for them can be found in our Careers Guidance Leaflet on our Careers and Education Guidance page.
